A team of professionals representing Rootz has returned from the SBC Summit in Barcelona, Spain, where industry leaders and experts gathered from around the globe to share insights and opportunities.
Leading the Way at SBC
Earlier in 2023, Rootz was invited to join the prestigious SBC Leaders collective, offering even more opportunities for networking and collaboration within the broader iGaming community. The company also made the shortlist for the award Rising Star in Casino, attending the Awards Evening along with the world’s top industry representatives.
Speaking Up at SBC
Leading the way at the SBC Summit, Sam Brown, CEO of Rootz, participated in a lively discussion as an official speaker on “Everything, everywhere, all-of-the-time - managing marketing, tech & compliance”. This panel took a closer look at the impact of regulation on the customer experience and how operators can balance the need for compliance with the desire to provide an engaging and enjoyable experience for their users.
Sam was joined by speakers such as Abby Cosgrave, Chief Legal and Compliance representative, LeoVegas Group; Roger Redfearn-Tyrzyk, VP of Global Gaming, IDnow and Warren Russell, CEO, W2, with Moderator Dee Maher (CEO, Lancaster Gaming Investments), handling an animated flow of discussion. The intriguing topic explored the ways in which gaming companies can maintain optimised customer experience while ensuring that the regulatory frameworks designed to protect customers are always prioritised, along with the need for innovative solutions. Innovation and regulation may not seem to be apparent companions in gaming; however, the speakers made it clear that both must co-exist for the benefit of customers.
Representatives from Rootz teams covered Marketing, CRM and Affiliates, as well as AML, attending multiple conference talks, round tables and panel discussions, and meeting delegates from every aspect of the industry from markets around the world.
Barcelona, as a host city, proved popular for conference and networking events, with the crowning achievement being the SBC Awards event held on the final evening at the magnificent Casa Codorníu, the oldest winery in Spain.
It was announced during the course of the week that the SBC Summit 2024 will be held in Lisbon, Portugal, prompting delegates to save the dates in September next year for what is expected to offer even more valuable points of engagement for industry professionals.
